Our Programs
Part of our mission at NSBE is to "positively impact the community", and our programs are geared towards that purpose.
Pre-College Initiative
The Pre-College Initiative (PCI) is dedicated to supporting underrepresented high-schooler students by stimulating their interest in STEM careers and assisting them in their high school careers.
A Walk for Education (AWFE)
A Walk for Education is an event hosted by NSBE every year, planned by the TORCH chair. During AWFE, volunteers distribute educational materials throughout the surrounding Troy. The purpose of AFWE is to spread awareness of the opportunities available to African-Americans through education, especially in STEM fields.
Study Jam
Come join us every Wednesday for snacks and studying! We also hold workshops for planning courses, managing finals, and more!
NSBE Membership Points
Members receive NSBE points for attending GBMs, NSBE Study Jams, and volunteering for events. At the end of the year, the members with the most points will be rewarded! You can see where you stand in the table below!
